1. Clothing by Season
Spring (Mar-May) has large temperature swings — bring a light jacket. Summer (Jun-Aug) needs breathable clothes and a rain jacket; indoor AC is strong so carry a cardigan. Autumn (Sep-Nov) suits layering. Winter (Dec-Feb) requires a heavy coat and warm accessories.
2. What to Buy Locally
Korea's 24-hour convenience stores and pharmacies stock most daily essentials cheaply. Umbrellas, shampoo, sunscreen, masks, and bandages are easy to buy locally. Korean cosmetics are high quality and affordable — buy them there.
3. Electronics and Chargers
Korea uses 220V with European Type C plugs. Bring a travel adapter or buy one locally. Power banks must go in carry-on luggage (max 2 units under 100Wh). Don't forget camera chargers and earphones.
4. Documents and Essentials
Keep your passport and a copy stored separately. Save your travel insurance card on your phone. Most medicines are available at Korean pharmacies, but bring prescription medications. An international driving permit is required for car rentals.
5. Packing Light
For trips over 7 days, use laundry services. Coin laundromats (셀프빨래방) are everywhere at ₩3,000-5,000 per wash. Roll clothes to save space. Visit Daiso for cheap travel accessories.
